Your First International Trip from India: A Complete Checklist

Passport, forex, insurance and more — a calm, step-by-step checklist for first-time international travellers.

Before you book

Start with a passport valid for at least six months beyond your trip. Decide your destination and dates, set a realistic budget that includes flights, stays and spending money, and confirm your trip with us so the bookings are locked in.

Six to eight weeks out

Buy travel insurance (mandatory for some countries), and arrange foreign exchange or a travel card. Make digital and printed copies of your passport, tickets and insurance, and start a simple packing list.

The week before

Check airline baggage rules, download offline maps and translation apps, note your country's embassy contact, and inform your bank you'll be travelling. Pack a universal power adapter for your destination's sockets.

How we make it easier

With Vizafir Travels, insurance, transfers and bookings are all arranged for you, with a concierge on WhatsApp throughout — so a first international trip feels as easy as a domestic one.
